Dems Take Congress

So the Senate goes to the Dems as well. They have done a great job toning down their ultra left wing liberal ideas lately and voters have bought into the idea that they are not that bad. Well, we'll get to see their true color in the next couple years, gun banning, heavy taxation, bigger govt, 3rd term abortions, all out funding for stem cell research thanks to Michael J Fox little TV stunt, and so on. Nancy Pelosi will be the head of the House and she's from San Francisco. Hold on to your seats, those of you voters who were greatly deceived.

Yuck! Our country's lawmaking is going to be terrible for the foreseeable future.

I don't think that Pelosi is going to play her full hand. If, for example, she manages to end all of the tax cuts that expire in 2008-2010, there will be hell to pay from those who are paying thousands more annually. The same thing goes with gun owners, pro-lifers, and such.

IF we had a president to stuck to strong, conservative values he would veto almost everything undesirable that congress would pass. Sadly, the only big thing he’s vetoed was funding for stem cell research, which I am in full support of funding.

Many people did not vote for the Democrats, they voted against the media's portrayal of the war (and therefore against Republicans). Many disenfranchized Republicans didn't vote either. All of that equals a rediculously ultra left wing leadership in Congress and we can only hope they are not allowed free reign. (Pelosi and Schumer make Hillary look like a moderate). I have little confidence in the Republican backbone (or lack thereof) to stand up for what is right. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to return to the conservative ideals that got them in power in the first place.
