Little Emperors Must Dance

From this article:
Obesity is a growing problem in China, and the government’s new solution: mandatory dance classes, in the hopes that students will boogie their way to a slimmer waistline.

Chinese students, nicknamed "Little Emperors," have been growing chubbier by the decade. They are on average more than 2 inches taller and 6.5 pounds heavier than they were 30 years ago. Many Chinese blame the problem on the influx of Western fast-food chains – you can’t walk a block in a major city like Beijing or Shanghai without spotting a McDonald’s, KFC or Pizza Hut.

---------------
So if they are called Little Emperors and they are still thinner than the kids here, what should we call the kids here, Chunky Chubbies? In 15 yrs, heart disease will be China's #1 problem.

I love how in these kinds of situations everyone else is to blame except for the consumer.

While I understand that there are (VERY) limited cases of disease that contribute to obesity, generally one becomes fat through poor decisions.

It isn't the government's responsibility to force these people to do anything, but rather for the individual to choose to be healty.

western food chains.
yup, thats it.
they are on to our secret weapon: burgers.

after a few more years, we'll give them MTV, American Idol, and Big Brother, and they'll be on their way to self dstruction.

damn, this may work better than that 'free blankets to the indians' thing in terms of western domination of the indeginous.

What about "Young Buddhas" for us? Or maybe "Young Tafts"?
