Better than Worse?

If you were put in a room w/ ten illiterate people and everyone's asked to take a written test, would you feel ecstatic if your score came out better than the other ten? Well, if you do, then you have big issues:o) Unfortunately though, that is how many of us live today. Instead of comparing ourselves to the standards set in Scriptures, we compare ourselves to the standards of the world. As long as we do better than the world, then we are living a good Christian life.

Here are some examples:
Instead of cheerishing your wife and loving her, not beating her is being a good husband.

Instead of fleeting from temptation, teenagers will be teenagers so being sexually promiscuous is unavoidable but as long as the two are not being one then that's better than the world.

Instead of saving $ and giving it to worthy causes, not spending money as lavishly as the world is being good stewards of God's money.

So the next time you think you are doing pretty good, are you comparing yourself to the world or are you comparing yourself to Scriptures?
