Baptist leader sparks furor with article on gays

From this article:
NEW YORK - The president of the leading Southern Baptist seminary has incurred sharp attacks from both the left and right by suggesting that a biological basis for homosexuality may be proven, and that prenatal treatment to reverse gay orientation would be biblically justified.

The Rev. R. Albert Mohler Jr., one of the country's pre-eminent evangelical leaders, acknowledged that he irked many fellow conservatives with an article earlier this month saying scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality.

------------
1. We need to stand up to those who cheapen the Gospel by calling good evil and evil good, in this case sin not a sin.

2. Given that premise that one's born w/ homosexual tendencies, that does not make it right. For example, children, as innocent as they may be, naturally sin. Therefore is it ok for them to continue to misbehave?

3. Should we expect the world to like us for preaching the truth? If so then we're reading a different Bible. As Paul says, let him be anathema for preaching a diff gospel! So preachers who only preach prosperity and not justice, sin, nor longsuffering, be careful for all will answer to God one day.

Yeah, Seventh Day Slumber sounds as good as their lyrics are. I've been listening to them this week.

Even if some are born with the tendency towards homosexuality, doesn't mean it's right. Men are born in sin to begin with. Does that mean sin is right? I think not.

But are they born with it? The most famous correlation of genetics to homosexuality, LeVay's (?) identical twins study, found only 52% correlation. In other words, it's been proven that nurture is a very significant factor in this.

Born with sin, yes, but the specific outgrowths of that predisposition are clearly in nurture.

another question needs to be asked:
would this be a moral thing to do with any other disposition toward a particular sin.

we already know that certain character traits lead to certain types of sinfulness. shall we purify all mankind in utero?

though this may sound good, wouldnt it oppose the biblical teaching of free will?

and after the logical course is taken, and all men are cleansed before birth from sinful urge can it be claimed that Christ's sacrifice was in vain? we dont need Christ. what mankind really needed was science all along.

this would, in turn, prove all faiths, and christianity itself,a sham.
