Reflection of 2006

So how would you sum up 2006 in your life?

I'll start. I found the job that I was looking for, taught myself how to say no to things w/o feeling guilty, and added a couple more closer relationships w/ people. I have found that quality is better than quantity. In other words, being the best at a few things is better than being good in many be it friendships, hobbies, ministries, or whatever.

for me, a basically wasted year.
spent 10 months waiting for something that didnt happen in order to start the next phase of life.
just kinda running in place, right now, waiting for the ship to reach port.

When my year started I was an absolute mess, drunk most the time as what remained of my life crumbled. What seemed like a lousy situation, however, was really just the darkness before the dawn. Radical honesty, treatment, plenty of Bible reading and ever increasing dependence on and obedience to God has changed everything. Many things about my future are still up in the air, but there is no question of going back. God has been so good and blessings have been poured down behind my wildest dreams. 2006 was the best year ever!!!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all doing direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

That about sums it up for me. I wonder if anyone else ever felt that way.

(OK, I don't want to get sued: Charles Dickens wrote it)

Like any other year before it; lots and lots of good times, some miserable times, and a few really miserable times. Overall I'd rate it an 8.

Hammer, yes, the times when we are lowest in the valleys can become so great when we are rescued. Thanks be to God!
