While he was speaking

Gen 8-11 Vs that stood out - Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood.

Job 1:13-18 Put yourself in his shoes and then one day a servant came and told him his other servants been killed and while he was speaking another came and more bad news. This happened 4 times simultaneously. What would go through your mind if this happens to you?

I'd probably wind up killing the messenger. :D

So, are you going to post news articles and stuff still, or just the bible commentary?

The hardest part of going through these kind of trials is not that your personal faith is tested, it's standing up to the trial and dealing with the faith of your wife and family as well. Many times in our marriage I've tried to do something God's way, but my wife wasn't at the same level of faith, and dealing with her was harder than dealing with the circumstance. Life is a bear sometimes.

Job was pretty remarkable. I think the normal tendency would be to either curse God or just assume that you'd done something wrong. He was in such remarkable control of his spiritual life that he didn't do either and continued to honor God. (I'm skipping ahead again aren't I?)

PB, yes:o)
I'll post both.

KD, thanks for the enlightment. As a single person, I never thought about the other person and even with a family, how to carry them along when their faith is not where yours is.

Hammer, yeah, u r skipping ahead. This then gives us a better perspective of having the whole Bible. It definitely makes me appreciate the word a lot more.

God may have promised that He'll never curse the gound, but that still leaves the seas and the sky for all His cursing pleasure.
I'm thankful that I've never been tested in such a way as Job; honestly I'd like to keep it that way.
